Look into my Eyes

I turned to steal a glimpse at him,
the first time our eyes kissed,
that day, on him my eyes were transfixed,
yet i had seen him a thousand times before,
for the first time i was bold,
I used eye-contact to profess my love,
but his responding eyes broke my heart,
they said I'm not his type... not even for his shadow.

He turned to look at her,
She got 'the look' i desired,
His eyes savored every inch of her body,
As if he were studying a painting,
I followed suit and gazed at her,
Gazing made my eyes burn,
For i deserved his eyes on me,
I'm not blind to notice love.

She loves it when Rich men stare,
Money makes her smile,
The man i adore is foolish,
According to her, he's not worth her time,
It hurts to see his eyes well up in painful tears,
But there's nothing i can do,
I'm blotted out by her shadow,
He can't see my loving eyes.

I wish he deemed me worthy of his eyes,
Maybe then he'd see how beautiful i am inside,
He'd see how madly my heart beats,
Every time i see him smile,
Or maybe he'd see my thirsty soul,
That needs to be quenched by his love,
It's a pity that he's blind to notice true love,
So i'll love him from the shadows,
Waiting for the day he sees my eyes.
