She smiles and poses,
she tells herself she's beautiful,
she reminds herself that she's precious,
she says the mirror lies!
The mirror is broken,
it doesn't reflect what she wants to see,
the mirror shows what it wasn't meant to see,
so she steps away wiping the tears she saw the girl in the mirror shedding,
she steps away from her soul's reflection.
She thinks about her constantly,
the image is meshed in the fabric of her memories,
she wonders why she saw her true-self and if others see her weary soul,
"that mirror is broken!" she tells herself again,
she lies to make her sleep at night.
She uses Make-Up!!
she hopes that it'll remake her,
hiding the scars on her heart called grudges,
concealing the eye bags on her life's fatigued eyes,
she's been through a great ordeal in her life,
she's experienced things too explicit for her mind's age.
She tries to hide her pain with foundation,
her pain is the foundation of her woes,
she tries everything to hide her true-self,
but the mirror sees through it all.
It finally sinks in,
it sinks deep into her being that she can't trick the mirror,
with or without make-up she's the same,
she's still the same mound of clay.
She's the potter,
she's the clay,
she curves and heats herself how she deems best,
it's up to her to create a masterpiece,
with or without impurities in the clay.
She closes her eyes and breathes in deep,
letting air flowing within her body,
then takes her position in front of the mirror,
she opens her eyes and lets unsaid words flow with her tears at what she sees,
the mirror doesn't speak,
it lets just lets her see,
how beautiful she is when she applies forgiveness on her skin!!
